It all began with a dream and £250. In 1974, George Harrison purchased his first touring caravan for that modest sum, little knowing he was laying the foundation for what would become a beloved family holiday business.

George had a vision, to build a family-oriented holiday company where people could create lasting memories together. In 1980, he took the bold step of buying his first caravan park, transforming his dream from that single touring caravan into something much bigger.

The business grew steadily over the decades, guided by George's steady hand and unwavering commitment to family values. Harrison Holidays was formally established in 2000, and Brooklyn Park became the first acquisition under the new company name. It was a new chapter, but one that stayed true to George's original vision.

Riverside Holiday Park joined the family in 2001, followed by Royal Umpire in 2005. By 2007, when Wild Rose Holiday Park was acquired, something wonderful had happened — George's three sons, also named George, along with William and Robert, had become well established in the business. The Harrison legacy was now truly a family affair, with the next generation carrying forward their father's dream.

The growth continued with purpose and care. Percy Wood Holiday Park came on board in 2017, Abbey Farm in 2018, and White Rose in 2019. In 2022 alone, two significant additions were made: Wild Rose opened a new entertainment complex in April, and Rawcliffe Hall was purchased in May. In August 2023, Cakes and Ale became part of the Harrison family. And the journey continued with the addition of Ardlui Holiday Park, Hotel & Marina on the stunning banks of Loch Lomond, and Crofthead Holiday Park in Ayrshire.

Today, Harrison Holidays, operating as part of the Harrison Leisure Group, stretches from the breathtaking shores of Loch Lomond in Scotland to the gentle countryside of Suffolk in the south. Eleven holiday parks dot the British landscape, each one chosen for its unique charm, whether dramatic Scottish scenery, coastal beauty, or peaceful countryside. The parks boast superb facilities including swimming pools, golf courses, and adventure playgrounds that delight children and adults alike.

The accommodation is wonderfully varied: caravans, lodges, cottages, and glamping pods, many with hot tubs for that extra touch of luxury. But Harrison Holidays offers more than just holidays, they've made it possible for people to own their own piece of paradise, with options ranging from pre-owned holiday homes to brand new models.

Through five decades of growth, the company has never lost what made it special from the beginning.
